(doing flashcards) E is for...silly Christmas guy.

Children's Chapel
During the sermon, kids from pre-K through 6th grade go to Children's Chapel, which is an age-appropriate discussion of the readings. Some of John's greatest hits from last Sunday:
(when asked what his talents were) "Playing outside, and doing my work at school so I can be on green."
After raising his hand, telling a random story about Dragon Tales (which he has been watching on Netflix)
Praying for "pirate money and more Ollie toys for Ollie."
(whispered while someone else was talking) "I think for Christmas, God is going to dress up as Santa."

Superheroes and Sunday School
(about a week ago, naming his two superhero toys from McDonalds)
John: The red one is Toto, and the blue one is Frodo.
(yesterday, when discussing the superheroes again)
John: The red one is Toto Frodo, and the blue one is Frodo Toto.
----
(while getting dressed)
John: Mommy, sing the Wall-E song
Me: "Put on your sunday clothes when you feel down and out..."
John: Because we're going to church today!

Body parts according to John
John: I hurt myself on my foot wrist.
Me: Right here? That's called your ankle.
(a month or so ago)
Me: Your shoes are on the wrong feet.
John: Oh, that's why my thumb toe is off the shoe.

I don't think he quite has the hang of the saying yet.
John:
I have good news and bad news.
The bad news is when I look in here (spyscope) to find the Backson. (Winnie the Pooh villain)
The good news is when I look under the couch and find my pirate sword that was missing.

October/November newsletter from preschool
"Aiden, Daniel, and John love to pretend to be monsters outside, they will chase the whole class from one house to another. All the kids love this game. And John is one of our group leaders who loves to play with everyone!"
That may be just a nice way of saying John is a RINGleader, based on reports of his recent behavior in school...Still, it's nice to hear about things we don't get to see during the school day!

Oh, so that's how it works...
(upon receiving a spider ring from daycare)
John: Now that I have a ring, I can marry somebody and get a baby brother or sister.
Mom: Oh...Wait, what? Who told you that?
John: You telled me. When people have a ring and they marry theyselves, then they can get babies.
(I do not remember telling him this...)
